This Work Is Not My Own
2019 - 2023 (ongoing)
Digital Collage

Evoking techno-aesthetic figurations of solidarity and art world anarchy, This Work Is Not My Own explores the limitations of ownership and horizontal aesthetics derived from a collective digital database, aka, the internet. Remnants of various photographed artworks - paintings, photos, and scuptures, along with search engine artifacts, are dissected at their essence to dissolve the technical copyright qualifiers of proprietorship. A soft sense of familiarity rises from the processual destruction, evoking curiosities about possession and the boundaries between capitalism and aesthetic freedom. The often unseen interrelatedness of form and anti-form begets recursive alloys of intrinsic collaboration.
